I love the simplicity of this advertisement! [Why did ads have to become so flashy?] This one tells me all I need to know to hire Mr. Beeson for all of my forestry needs.
My family isn't very good at sharing stories...I found out (also from an old newspaper clipping) that my great-grandfather gave a lot of money to build the Catholic Church (and it's named after his wife!) in my hometown...I didn't even know we were Catholic!

Today's flash is attributed to increased competition. Businesses feel they have to "shout to be heard" in the middle of crowded fields. I was an ad design major in art school. A year out and I felt dirty. :( We were taught to convince people to buy things they really didn't need. We are much like Life insurance salesmen. The policy pays off only if you die. So, it's all false advertising, huh?
I like the ad, too. :)
