They still send those home! You can still order books with a slip, a check, and an envelope! Books are about the only thing my kids don't have to ask for twice.

I love TDIR and I've read it many times. I live not too far from where "The Grey King", my favourite in the series, was set. Every time I go past Cader Idris I look up to see if the Grey King is on the mountain. And I look down to Pleasant Lake (where the sleepers lie) (Tal-y-Llyn). The door of the birds is in bird rock, where cormorants roost miles from inland from the sea. One of these days I'll see Bran with his dog. That series of books is amazing.

I loved, loved, loved that entire series. I still recommend it to young people (and not-so-young people) all the time.
I am a bit envious that you read these when you were young. I didn't discover them until I was well into my 20s.
Oh, the Scholastic book order process does bring back the memories... not only could one get books, but there were also those great "stuck on stickers" options.
Drifting away on nostalgia...

oh great arthur, i love this series. i used to reread it every winter, but it's been a while since i did that. i found hardcovers of all of them, eventually, but made a critical error a couple of years back and put them in my storage unit. i never go there because it's creepy, and not in a good greenwitch way.
